Eye Care America
EyeCare America is a public service program of the Foundation of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Our mission is to preserve sight by raising awareness about eye disease and providing access to medical eye care.

Get Eye Smart
When you go to "get your eyes checked," there are a variety of eye care providers you might see. Ophthalmologists, optometrists and opticians all play an important role in providing eye care services to consumers. However, each group has different levels of training and expertise; you should be sure you are seeing the right provider for your condition or treatment.

Glaucoma Research Foundation
For 30 years, the Glaucoma Research Foundation has funded innovative clinical, epidemiological, and laboratory research. We will continue to lead the way in research until a cure is found. We support promising ideas that the federal government's National Institutes of Health and large drug companies may pass over as being too "new and untested." Very often, the first-stage funding we provide results in the evidence mainstream funding sources require. This can lead to additional grants for promising projects and important advances in understanding and treating glaucoma.

Eye Surgery Education Council
This site provides information for patients, their families, and interested members of the public on a variety of common vision problems and therapies. The material on the site has been reviewed for accuracy and balance by panels of leading eye surgeons who comprise the ASCRS Foundation’s Eye Surgery Education Council (ESEC).
