C. Nelson Ringer, M.D.
Dr. Ringer is a graduate of University of Missouri, Columbia and University of Tennessee, Memphis School of Medicine. He interned and completed his internal medicine residency in at the City of Memphis Hospital. After serving in the United States Air Force in Texas, Dr. Ringer returned to the City of Memphis to complete his residency in ophthalmology. In 1977, began his career in private practice with Eye Consultants, Inc in Cape Girardeau where his has continued to practice for over thirty years.
Dr. Ringer is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and a member of the Missouri Ophthalmological Society, Missouri Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons, Missouri State Medical Society, and Cape County Area Medical Society. He holds the distinction of being an Honorary Staff Member at both the Saint Francis Medical Center and Southeast Missouri Hospital.
Dr. Ringer is an avid snow skier, a golf enthusiast, and enjoys his Labrador Retriever.
Dr. Ringer specializes in medical ophthalmology.

Todd. J. Lumsden, D.O., F.A.O.C.O.
Dr. Lumsden is a graduate of Mankato State University and the University of Osteopathic Medicine & Health Sciences, College of Osteopathic Medicine & Surgery in Des Moines, IA. After completing his internship and a residency in ophthalmology at Millcreek Community Hospital, Dr. Lumsden went on to complete a second residency in ophthalmology at Metro Health Center in Erie, PA. He joined Eye Consultants, Inc during the summer of 1997.
Dr. Lumsden is board certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology. He became a Fellow of the American Osteopathic College of Ophthalmology in 2006. Dr. Lumsden is a member of American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, American Osteopathic Association, Missouri Society of Eye Physicians & Surgeons, and Cape County Area Medical Society. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Physicians Alliance Surgery Center.
Dr. Lumsden enjoys spending time with his family, is a passionate golfer, gets pleasure from riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, and enjoys hunting and fishing.
Dr. Lumsden specializes in comprehensive ophthalmology with an emphasis on No-Shot, No-Stitch, No-Patch cataract surgery.

John R. Kinder, M.D., F.A.C.S.
Dr. Kinder was born and raised in Cape Girardeau, graduating from Cape Central High in 1987. He is a graduate of Vanderbilt University and the University of Tennessee, School of Medicine. Following his internship at Methodist Hospitals of Memphis he completed his residency at the University of Iowa. In 2000, he began his career in private practice when he joined Eye Consultants, Inc in Cape Girardeau.
Dr. Kinder is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He became a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons in 2009. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, Missouri State Medical Society, Missouri Society of Eye Physicians & Surgeons, Cape County Area Medical Society, and AOA Honorary Society. He also serves on the Physicians Alliance Surgery Center’s Board of Directors.
Dr. Kinder enjoys the challenges of mountain climbing, playing golf, and spending time with his family. Also, he and his wife are very active in the Cape Girardeau Young Life ministry.
Dr. Kinder specializes in comprehensive ophthalmology with an emphasis on No-Shot, No-Stitch, No-Patch cataract surgery.

Richard L. Kies, M.D., F.A.C.S.
Dr. Kies is a graduate of the University of Missouri at Columbia and their School of Medicine. Following an internship at St. John’s Mercy Medical Center, Dr. Kies completed his residency training in ophthalmology at the University of Missouri in Kansas City. He has been practicing in the Cape Girardeau area since 1982. He was the primary surgeon in Kies Eye Center and Cape Girardeau Outpatient Surgery Center until April 2008, when he and his staff merged with Eye Consultants, Inc forming a premium ophthalmology practice to better meet the needs of the Southeast Missouri service area.
Dr. Kies is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He became a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons in 1986, and a Fellow of the American Board of Eye Surgeons in 1989, as a charter member. He is also a member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and the Missouri Society of Eye Physicians & Surgeons. Dr. Kies is a past president of the Cape County Area Medical Society.
Dr. Kies is an avid hunter & fisherman and enjoys spending time with his family & friends at wine tasting events.

T. Kim Krummenacher M.D.
Dr. Krummenacher is a graduate of Boston College and the St. Louis University, School of Medicine. He interned at St. John’s Mercy Medical Center, and took his residency in ophthalmology at St. Louis University. Dr. Krummenacher completed a fellowship in vitreous and retinal surgery at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. He has been practicing in the St. Louis area with Retina & Vitreous Consultants since 1984, with Kies Eye Center from 1997 to 2008. He began treating patients at Eye Consultants, Inc when they merged with Kies Eye Center in April of 2008.
Dr. Krummenacher is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology.
He is assistant clinical professor of ophthalmology at the St. Louis University School of Medicine and assistant clinical professor of ophthalmology at the University of Missouri at Columbia School of Medicine.
Dr. Krummenacher specializes in vitreoretinal diseases and treatments. Some of the many problems affecting the retina and vitreous include macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and retinal detachment.

Byron A. Santos, M.D.
Dr. Santos is a graduate of Bowdoin College and the University of San Carlos, School of Medicine. Following an internship at the Central Military Hospital in Guatemala, Dr. Santos completed his residency in ophthalmology at the Rodolfo Robles Eyes and Ear Hospital. He completed a fellowship at the St. Louis University School of Medicine in the Department of Ophthalmology. He has been practicing in the St. Louis area since 1984, with Kies Eye Center and Cape Girardeau Outpatient Surgery Center from 1998 to 2008. He began treating patients at Eye Consultants, Inc when they merged with Kies Eye Center in April of 2008.
Dr. Santos is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and the Southern Illinois Medical Association. He has been the Director of the Glaucoma Clinic at the O’Donnell Eye Institute in St. Louis, MO since 1988.
Dr. Santos specializes in ocular plastics and laser resurfacing.
